…of how we must bring ourselves truly to the fore, risking our beautiful visions in order to create… and yet, how it is all worth it.
Making real (Reifying) your imagination
the death of the infinite
For those of us heavily involved in building our own universes, storytelling becomes the incarnational moment when worlds become real, and we have to choose to make them so. And it can be challenging to take that step; to avoid the risk of choosing wrong is much easier and safer—leaving us free to imagine that what we would have made would always have been…
Every time I create, I encounter something like these decisions. Each sweep of pen or brush, every keystroke, every splash of color, each is a risk—one in which we risk the perfection of the sacred ideas we have inside ourselves. Will this physical creation match the inestimable beauty I had envisioned in the private sanctity of my inner mind?
rewards beyond the risk
be who you are
I'll leave you with permission-flaunter, independent YouTube mogul Felicia Day—a woman who has been a major inspiration to me. She recently made an exciting announcement… (which I just discovered is) …that of her new book… in which she admonishes creators not to fear their own weirdness, but to embrace it. It's what's unique inside you that you must manifest.
Never be afraid to make who you really are real on the pages of your own story.
