outlining 25 years of story
All of this laid out in five acts, with each act spanning 5 years, and 'holographically' having its own 5 act story structure within it.
In my story arc, I aimed to include:
- key scenes that evoked personality and story
- character revelation
- a roller-coaster of success and failure
All of this, meant to make the whole journey for readers, players, viewers and audience members thoroughly more enjoyable.
Honoring the audience
A lot of franchises, I feel, fail in their failure to plan. Seasons and series are written piece-meal, and fans and audiences often feel gypped with endings that don't pay off major things that were set up, and wonder why they "watched those last eleven seasons."
organization, marketing and business
worldbuilding takes center stage
Major Rites of Passage story events can then be set against the historical periods mentioned above, sealing in characters into various world contexts.
a leviathan of a story
This is the plan, God-willing, insh'allah. It's an epic story, designed to make a big impact on the culture and people around them–by, hopefully, being just a ton of fun.
Twenty-five years feels so much more doable now that I have a plan. Time to get writing, drawing and creating.
Now, if only I could find that notebook I wrote this all down in!
