Although work has been creeping forward towards the goals of Animus, very little has been updated on the blog. It's time to get focused.
Here are some of the things that are happening in the world of the Animus behind-the-scenes "workshop." Read on to discover more! :)
I've been getting more organized, cutting apart my comics to prepare for crowdfunding and working on more content—including the webseries!
Getting more organized
With our goal of getting to Asheville's Comic Expo firmly in mind, we work backwords through our projected crowdfunding campaign to the present. Putting the necessary tasks into a spreadsheet helps keep things in order.
The ultimate order, of course, is—as flakey as it sounds to say--neuronal—within one's own subconscious towards getting things done. Using various internal transformational techniques, I have been working on that too.
CROWDFUNDING PREPARATION—2.5D CUTTING
In working towards the crowdfunding campaign, one of the major things that needs preparation is the explanatory video—which will give viewers a gateway into looking at the Animus world. To get ready, I'm cutting my comics apart (digitally--don't worry) to prepare them for what I call 2.5D.
To present images in 2.5D is to take flat pictures, separate them into their basic components (repairing then the missing gaps that occur as a result) and then animate the layers separately, usually with a process called parallax that gives the appearance of three-dimensionality. It's time consuming—and as such, we need to start now.
Content: Webseries relaunch
After getting some feedback on the webseries—we're putting together a slightly different version of the first episode (see teaser below).
I am anticipating that the webseries will be one of the most fun and exciting part of the Animus experience—and can't wait to see what you all think as it gets rolling.
In conclusion, there are some organizational, artistic, preparational, as well as content things we have going on. Look out for more content on topics like storytelling hospitality, the gear that you need to start transmedia, and the origin of the Animus races.
